My name is Martin, and I'm the founder of Selo Olive Oil. Family owned and operated since 2017, our roots run deep in Croatia. Selo isn't just a product to us, it's a way of life. Our family has been farming and producing exceptional olive oil for three generations, with our roots tracing back to almond farmers in the countryside around Zadar. As our love for Croatian cuisine grew, we found ourselves drawn to the picturesque coastal town of Biograd na Moru, where we grew olive trees and dedicated ourselves to the art of producing the finest olive oil.
My journey to the world of olive oil was a winding one. Though I grew up in Canada, the rich heritage of my Croatian family always held a special place in my heart. For years, I worked as a software developer, creating and innovating in the digital realm. But there was a longing within me, a desire to reconnect with my roots and to honor the traditions of my ancestors. It was this calling that ultimately led me to return to Croatia and take the helm of the family business, bringing Selo Olive Oil to life.
